This section defines “stock” and “produce” for this Chapter. Stealing the listed animals or produce is an offence, with imprisonment penalties that vary by the type of item stolen and whether it is a first or later offence. A person who helps someone steal stock or produce commits an offence and is liable to the penalty in section 282B. A person who possesses stolen stock or produce, or stock or produce they know or should reasonably suspect is stolen, commits an offence. A person trading in produce or stock must not make or accept delivery at night, except for pig.
