This section gives the Act its short title and says it starts on a date appointed by the President by statutory instrument. This section defines terms used in the Act. The Zambia Cyber Security Agency is established in the Office of the President and must administer the Act, coordinate cyber security matters in Zambia, and work with relevant institutions. The Agency has a list of cyber security functions, including coordination, incident response, information sharing, standards-setting, licensing, regulation, research, audits, certification, response planning, forensics, technical assistance, and advising the President. The President appoints the Agency’s Director-General, Deputy Director-General, Directors, and Deputy Directors, and the Director-General appoints other officers below Deputy Director level on the Staff Board’s recommendation.
