Enactment structure, operative effect and source provenance
01
Purpose and legislative effect
“This provision gives the Order its short title.”
This provision gives the Order its short title. This section defines terms used in the Order, including dealer, motor, spare part, and landed cost. Imported motor spare parts have a maximum retail price set by reference to landed cost plus a percentage mark-up, with a lower percentage for Schedule items and a higher percentage for non-Schedule items. The Price Controller approves the maximum retail price for locally manufactured spare parts after receiving cost and other relevant documents, and no person may sell motor spare parts above the maximum price. Motor spare parts dealers must give buyers an invoice showing the maximum retail price at the time of sale, and dealers must keep a spare-parts price list and show it to consumers on demand.
