About this statute

This section states the short title of the Order. This section declares the Preferential Trade Area for Eastern and Southern African States (the P.T.A.) to be an organisation whose members include the Government and the governments of certain other States. The P.T.A. has the legal capacity of a body corporate. The P.T.A. has immunity from suit and legal process, except where it has expressly waived that immunity. The P.T.A. has the same inviolability for its official archives and office premises as a diplomatic agent accredited to Zambia.
