2. (I) The operation of sections1hree hundred and sixty-seven and 1hree hundred and sixty-eiglu of the Acl is hereby suspended until- Suspension of staff provisions (a) 3 I SI December, 1997; or (b) such date as the Registrar may appoint by notice published in Lhe Gazeue; whichever is earlier. (2) All persons who, immediately before the commencement of Lhe Act, performed functions and held responsibilities under the former Acl shall conlinue to perform those functions and hold those responsibilities under Lhc same terms and condilions.

3. (!) The operation of Divisions 8.2 and 8.3 of the Act arc suspended in rel al ion Lo a private company until Isl January, 1997. (2) On and from 1 sl January, 1997, Lhosc Divisions shall apply to a private compan) as if the Act had commenced on Lhat day.
