The President may let a Regular Force officer stay in service past the usual retirement age, subject to public-interest conditions and any agreed conditions.

These Regulations may be cited as·the Defence (Regular Title Forces) (Officers)(Amendment)Regulations, 2009, and shall be read as one with the Defence (Regular Forces) (Officers) Cap. 106 Regulations, in these Regulations referred to as the principal Regulations. 2. Regulation 9 of the principal Regulations is amended (a) in sub-regulation (3)- Amendment of regulation 9 (i) by the deletion of the number "50" after the words "age of' and the substitution therefor of the number "55"; and (ii) by the deletion of the proviso and the substitution therefor of the following proviso: Provided that if the President considers that it is desirable in the public interest and on conditions to be agreed upon, the President may allow that officer to continue to serve in the Regular Force until the officer attains the age of 60 years, unless that officer gives notice of twelve months of the officer's intention to retire at the age of 55 years before attaining that age; and Copies of this Statutory Instrument can be obtained from the Government Printer, P.O.
