About this statute

These Regulations may be cited as the Forests (Export of Title Timber) Regulations, 2015. This section defines key terms used in the Regulations, including exporter, permit, quota, timber, timber merchant, and timber products. Exporters may export only the listed timber types, and cannot export charcoal, non-finished timber products from national forests, peelers, or saw logs. The Director may permit export of other timber in some cases. A person must not use the listed timber species to make railway sleepers. A concession licence holder or timber merchant may apply to the Director for a permit in Form I, but a timber merchant without the required written agreement cannot apply.
