About this statute

This section says the Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Title (Retirement Age) Regulations, 2023. This section defines “officer” by referring to the meaning given in the Act, unless the context otherwise requires. These Regulations do not apply to certain officers at or below specified ranks in the Zambia Police Service and Zambia Correctional Service. Officers must retire at age 60, with limited options to retire earlier at 55 or later at 65 if they give 12 months’ notice and get the President’s approval. The Public Service (Retirement Age) Regulations, 2014 are revoked.
