The function of a cosmetic product must be indicated on the packaging in a way that clearly informs the consumer of its use and mode of application to ensure safe use, and this information cannot be limited to the general purposes listed in Article 2(1)(a). Required information cannot be provided in a separate catalogue referenced by a symbol; it must be on or attached to the product unless there is a practical impossibility, which does not include organizational or financial inconvenience.
