Suspension of a pupil for refusal to accept corporal punishment, where such refusal is based on parental philosophical convictions, also violates the right to education under the first sentence of Article 2 of Protocol No. 1. No violation of Article 3 is established as the threshold of inhuman or degrading treatment was not met.
