The Court found a violation of Article 3 (procedural) taken alone and in conjunction with Article 14 due to the ineffective investigation into the applicants' complaints of ill-treatment and discrimination. There was a violation of Article 3 (substantive) in respect of the first applicant due to lack of satisfactory explanation for his injuries and unlawful use of force. No violation of Article 3 (substantive) or Article 14 (substantive) was found for the other applicants due to insufficient evidence beyond reasonable doubt.
