UM (Contrat translatif de propriete mortis causa) (Judicial cooperation in civil matters - Succession - Judgment) [2021] EUECJ C-277/20 (09 September 2021)
A contract under which a person provides for the future transfer, on death, of ownership of immovable property to other parties is an agreement as to succession under Article 3(1)(b) of Regulation (EU) No 650/2012. Article 83(2) does not apply to a choice of law made before 17 August 2015 that governs only such an agreement for a particular asset, not the succession as a whole.
