In re AP alias MC (Adoption Cause E290 of 2025) [2026] KEHC 6624 (KLR) (Family) (14 May 2026) (Judgment) Neutral citation: [2026] KEHC 6624 (KLR) Republic of Kenya In the High Court at Nairobi (Milimani Law Courts) Family Adoption Cause E290 of 2025 HK Chemitei, J May 14, 2026 IN THE MATTER OF BABY AP ALIAS MC In the matter of DWP 1st Applicant MNM 2nd Applicant Judgment 1.In their Originating Summons dated 17th October 2025 the Applicants are seeking orders that;(a)They be authorised to adopt Baby AP alias MC a minor who is to be known as MMW and the Registrar General be directed to enter this adoption into the Register of Adoptions.(b)MN be appointed as the legal guardian of the minor who shall be presumed to have been born in kenya. 2.The application is premised on the annexed affidavits of the Applicants as well as the relevant statements and various annexures thereto. 3.The matter came up for hearing of the chamber summons application on 6th November, 2025 and the Court directed that a report be prepared by the Children Department. The same was prepared and filed and it is dated 19th January, 2026. 4.The parties appeared before me on 23rd April, 2026 in which the Court was able to interview them albeit orally. They all understood their responsibilities and duties. 5.The Court has equally perused the documents on record from the relevant agencies and in particular the aforesaid report from the Directorate of Children Services which is positive. 6.In the premises the Court is satisfied and the Originating summons is hereby allowed as prayed and Pamela Shikhule is discharged as guardian ad litem. 7.Costs in the cause.
