In re Baby LJA (Adoption Cause E067 of 2026) [2026] KEHC 11855 (KLR) (Family) (30 July 2026) (Judgment) Neutral citation: [2026] KEHC 11855 (KLR) Republic of Kenya In the High Court at Nairobi (Milimani Law Courts) Family Adoption Cause E067 of 2026 HK Chemitei, J July 30, 2026 IN THE MATTER OF BABY LJA In the matter of JMM 1st Applicant MMM 2nd Applicant Judgment 1.In their Originating Summons dated 26th March 2026 the Applicants are seeking orders that:(a)They be authorised to adopt Baby LJM , a minor.(b)The minor henceforth be called LMM and the Registrar General be directed to enter this adoption into the Register of Adoptions.(c)MNM and BNB be appointed as the legal guardians of the child.(d)The child be presumed to be born in kenya. 2.The application is premised on the statement thereof as well as the supporting affidavit of the applicants of even date. 3.The Court on 21st May 2026 appointed the guardian ad litem and directed that a report be prepared by the Director of Children’s Services. 4.The said report dated 23rd June 2026 is on record and it is positive. 5.The parties appeared before Court on 25th June 2026 albeit online and the Court was able to interview them orally. 6.They all appreciated their respective roles regarding the minor. 7.Consequently, I find the application merited having taken into consideration the paper trail on record from various agencies. 8.In the premises the Originating summons is hereby allowed with no order as to costs. 9.ARK is hereby discharged as guardian ad litem.
