The termination of the claimant's employment on 30 November 2018 was on account of redundancy after the sale of the rubber plant. However, the respondent failed to comply with the procedural requirements of section 40 of the Employment Act, 2007, including giving 30 days' notice to the claimant and the area labour officer, and properly paying severance and other terminal dues.
