The 1st Respondent's payment to the 2nd Respondent, rather than the chargee, did not confer any legal interest, and the caveat he lodged could not override the Applicant's title. The Court of Appeal had already determined that statutory notice was properly served on the 2nd Respondent, extinguishing his right of redemption.
