The High Court lacks jurisdiction to tax an advocate-client bill of costs arising from proceedings before the Employment and Labour Relations Court (ELRC). The Deputy Registrar of the High Court, despite acknowledging the ELRC origin of the matter, proceeded to tax the bill without jurisdiction. Article 165(5)(b) of the Constitution expressly bars the High Court from hearing and determining disputes reserved for the ELRC. The proper forum for taxation of such bills is the ELRC or its superior court of equal status, as only that court has the authority to call for and peruse the relevant files.
