The High Court lacks jurisdiction to tax advocate-client bills of costs arising from matters before the Employment and Labour Relations Court (ELRC). The Deputy Registrar of the High Court, despite acknowledging the ELRC origin of the matter, proceeded to tax the bill without jurisdiction. The Constitution expressly bars the High Court from determining disputes reserved for the ELRC, and advocate-client bills of costs consequent to ELRC proceedings must be filed and taxed before the ELRC. The taxation conducted by the Deputy Registrar was therefore null and void for want of jurisdiction.
