The Court of Appeal held that the appellants, having purchased the suit property at a properly advertised public auction and having paid the full purchase price, acquired good title as bona fide purchasers for value without notice of any adverse equitable interest. The respondent's failure to register a caveat or otherwise protect her interest under the Government Lands Act and Transfer of Property Act meant she had no enforceable claim against the appellants. The equity of redemption was extinguished upon execution of the contract of sale at auction, and the title of the purchaser could not be impeached absent fraud, which was neither pleaded nor proved.
