The appeal was filed outside the sixty-day limitation period prescribed by Section 8(9) of the Land Disputes Tribunals Act. The court found that the statutory limitation period runs from the date of the decision of the Appeals Tribunal, not from the date the proceedings were certified. Section 95 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which allows for enlargement of time where the period is fixed by the court, does not apply to statutory limitation periods. The court held that it has no jurisdiction to extend time in such circumstances unless an application for extension is properly made and justified.
