The trial court failed to ensure compliance with this procedural requirement and also erred by not entering interlocutory judgment against the appellant in accordance with Order 1 Rule 19. The appellant's failure to participate in the proceedings did not cure the procedural defects in the issuance and service of the third-party notice.
