The Court of Appeal held that it possessed inherent jurisdiction to entertain and determine applications to strike out pleadings where it is alleged that documents have been filed by an unauthorised law firm or advocate, as such matters are incidental to the proper administration of justice and the integrity of its process. The Court found that, as of 5th December 2023, Mali Advocates LLP was expressly barred by the Law Society of Kenya from conducting legal business due to unresolved issues regarding its composition and management.
