Rule 55 of the Auctioneers Rules prescribes a mandatory procedure for appeals against a taxing officer's assessment of auctioneer's costs: such appeals must be by memorandum of appeal via chamber summons and filed within 7 days of the decision. The applicant instead filed a reference, which is not recognized under the Rules, and did so outside the prescribed period.
