The court recognized the need to balance the interests of both parties: the appellant's right to appeal and the respondent's right to enjoy the fruits of judgment. The court held that security for due performance was necessary but, considering the economic impact of COVID-19, it was sufficient for the appellant to deposit half the decretal sum in a joint interest-earning account in the names of both parties' advocates.
