The court found that while section 74 of the Law of Succession Act and Rule 43(1) of the Probate and Administration Rules allow rectification of grants for errors in names or descriptions, the addition of new assets discovered after confirmation of grant does not fall within the scope of rectification. Such changes are fundamental and should ordinarily be addressed through an application for review of the confirmed grant. However, invoking its inherent jurisdiction under Rule 73, the court determined that it could make orders necessary to achieve the ends of justice.
