The court found that the applicant’s request for rectification of her name on the certificate of confirmation of grant fell within the scope of errors contemplated by section 74 of the Law of Succession Act and Rule 43(1) of the Probate and Administration Rules. However, the court noted that rectification powers are technically limited to the grant itself, not the certificate of confirmation, and that the applicant, not being the administrator, was not the proper party to seek rectification.
