Since the legal foundation for the sub-division and issuance of titles no longer existed, the resultant titles and sub-divisions could not stand. The court held that it would be contrary to justice and the law to allow parties to benefit from a grant that had been revoked. Accordingly, the court exercised its inherent jurisdiction to cancel the titles issued in respect of the sub-divided portions and ordered that the property revert to its original parcel and registration in the name of the deceased.
