The appellate court, in its judgment, enhanced general damages but made no order as to costs, thereby exercising its unfettered discretion under Section 27 of the Civil Procedure Act. The court found that it was functus officio after delivering its judgment and could not revisit or alter its decision on costs except through review or appeal.
