There was no evidence of a permanent contract or any obligation on the respondent to renew the contract. The claimant’s contract ended by operation of law upon expiry, not by unfair termination at the instance of the respondent. The purported termination letter dated 28th May 2013 was ineffective as the contract had already lapsed. The claimant’s claims for unfair termination, payment in lieu of notice, and compensation were therefore dismissed.
