The Court found that the delay in filing the notice of appeal was only four days and was satisfactorily explained as inadvertent error by the applicants' counsel. The application for extension of time was filed promptly, less than a month after the expiry of the prescribed period. The Court held that the reasons for the delay were sufficient and the delay was not inordinate. Further, the applicants demonstrated plausible grounds of appeal through their draft memorandum of appeal. The application was unopposed.
