The court held that substantial loss could result to the applicants if stay was not granted, as the decree was for a monetary sum and there might be difficulty in recovering the amount from the respondents if the appeal succeeded. The court determined that, although the applicants offered a bank guarantee, part payment of the decretal amount would suffice as security.
