The doctrine of legitimate expectation does not apply to fixed-term contracts unless there is clear evidence of a promise or conduct by the employer indicating renewal, which was absent in this case. The respondent's contract terminated by effluxion of time, and there was no unfair termination. The court further found that the respondent was entitled to underpayment and leave allowance based on the CBA and the employer's policy, as established in prior similar cases, but not to house allowance or compensation for unfair termination, as the salary...
