The Tribunal found that its jurisdiction is strictly limited to disputes arising from controlled tenancies as defined under Cap 301. The applicant failed to provide any documentary evidence, such as receipts or Mpesa statements, to prove payment of rent to the landlord. The only tenancy agreement produced was between the landlord and Veronica Wanjiku Muigai, not the applicant. The applicant's assertion that his wife executed the agreement on his behalf was unsupported by any documentation or authorization. In the absence of proof of a landlord/tenant relationship between the applicant and the 1st respondent, the Tribunal held that it lacked jurisdiction to determine the matter....
