The court held that the trial court misapprehended the evidence regarding the extent of injuries and, therefore, the award was not a reasonable estimate. The appellate court determined that Kshs. 200,000 would be a fair and reasonable award for general damages, taking into account comparable authorities and the rate of inflation.
