Although he claimed to have entered the property in 1997 with his late father, his possession was not independent until after his father's death in 2016. The period between 2016 and the filing of the Respondent's recovery suit in 2018 was less than the required 12 years. The Applicant did not file the claim as an administrator of his father's estate but in his own right, and thus could not aggregate his father's period of possession.
