Therefore, for purposes of adverse possession, time began to run from that date. By the time the suit was filed in September 2008, only four years had elapsed, which was insufficient to sustain a claim for adverse possession. However, the court held that the plaintiff's occupation and payment of the full purchase price entitled her to equitable relief.
