The Land Dispute Tribunal and the Provincial Land Appeals Committee exceeded their statutory jurisdiction by making and upholding an award that affected the title to registered land. Section 3(1) of the Land Dispute Tribunal Act restricts the Tribunal's jurisdiction to matters of trespass, boundary disputes, and occupation or use of land, and does not empower it to make orders relating to title or subdivision of registered land. The Tribunal's decision to order subdivision and cancellation of the appellant's title was ultra vires and void. The Provincial Land Appeals Committee erred in upholding such a decision.
