The appellant was properly identified as the perpetrator, being well known to the victim and identified in court. However, the enhancement of the sentence from 10 years to life imprisonment by the High Court was procedurally improper, as there was no notice of enhancement, no warning to the appellant, and no cross-appeal by the State.
