Procedural Posture
Criminal Revision / Interlocutory Ruling on Urgent Application for Revision of Bail/bond Terms
Legal Issues
- 1 Whether the applicant is entitled to a revision of the trial court's order denying reasonable bail or bond terms.
- 2 Whether the High Court should intervene at this stage to review the subordinate court's decision on bail.
Ratio Decidendi
The court found the application for revision of bail/bond terms to be urgent and made procedural orders to facilitate the hearing of the application. The court directed the Deputy Registrar to avail the subordinate court file, ordered service of the application on the respondent, set timelines for response, and scheduled a mention date for further directions.
Court Disposition
Application certified urgent; directions issued for service, response, and mention for further directions.
Orders
- The application is certified urgent.
- The Deputy Registrar is directed to avail the subordinate court file untyped within 21 days from the date hereof.
