The High Court held that once a matter is transferred from the High Court to a subordinate court, the transferee court assumes full jurisdiction to hear and determine all pending applications and issues, including the power to set aside or vary orders previously made by the High Court, except for the order of transfer itself. The Magistrate's Court therefore erred in holding that it lacked jurisdiction to entertain the appellant's motion seeking to set aside the order striking out its witness statement.
