From July 1987, the defendant's occupation became adverse to the title of the 1st plaintiff. The defendant remained in open, continuous, and exclusive possession for over 12 years without interruption or consent, and the 1st plaintiff did not take action to recover the land within the statutory period. By July 1999, the 1st plaintiff's title was extinguished, and he held the land in trust for the defendant.
