The disqualification decision was communicated on 3rd February 2025, but the application was filed only on 5th March 2025, on the eve of the elections, which proceeded as scheduled. The court held that certiorari could not serve any useful purpose since the elections had already taken place, and mandamus could not compel inclusion in a ballot for an election that had already occurred.
