The court found that there was no dispute as to retainer and the certificate of taxation had not been set aside or altered. Section 51 of the Advocates Act allows the court to enter judgment on such a certificate. The applicant was therefore entitled to judgment for the taxed costs. Regarding interest, Rule 7 of the Advocates Remuneration Order entitles an advocate to 14% per annum interest from 30 days after service of the bill. As there was no evidence of the exact date of service, the court used the date when the respondent's counsel entered appearance as the date of service, and interest was to accrue from 15th July 2017.
