The court found that the appellants filed the application for stay of execution without unreasonable delay. However, they failed to provide sufficient evidence of the respondent's inability to refund the decretal sum if the appeal succeeded, thus not fully satisfying the requirement of demonstrating substantial loss. Nonetheless, considering the nature of the decree (a money decree) and the appellants' willingness to comply with security conditions, the court exercised its discretion to grant a conditional stay of execution. The stay was made subject to the appellants depositing 50% of the judgment sum in a joint interest earning account and paying the remaining 50% to the respondent...
