The Court of Appeal held that it lacks jurisdiction to extend time for filing a notice of appeal or an application for certification to the Supreme Court. The Court's power to extend time under its own rules is confined to appeals within its jurisdiction and does not apply to appeals to the Supreme Court, which are governed exclusively by the Supreme Court Rules, 2020. Applications for extension of time to appeal to the Supreme Court must therefore be made directly to the Supreme Court.
