Ratio Decidendi

The court found that the applicant was duly instructed by the respondent and rendered legal services for which costs were taxed. There was no dispute as to retainer, and the certificate of taxation had not been set aside or altered. In accordance with Section 51 of the Advocates Act and the cited case law, the court exercised its discretion to enter judgment for the taxed costs. Further, Rule 7 of the Advocates Remuneration Order entitled the applicant to interest at 14% per annum from 30 days after delivery of the bill, which was established as 17.2.17. As the application was unopposed and all statutory requirements were met, the court granted the orders sought by the applicant.
