The court found that the appellants had demonstrated sufficient cause for stay of execution under Order 42 Rule 6 of the Civil Procedure Rules. The application was not unreasonably delayed, and there was a real risk of substantial loss to the appellants if execution proceeded, particularly as the respondents had not shown ability to refund the decretal sum should the appeal succeed. However, the land offered as security was inadequate, as it did not belong to the appellants and was of questionable value and location.
