The High Court found that the Kandara District Land Disputes Tribunal acted outside its statutory jurisdiction by entertaining a dispute based on breach of contract for the sale of land, which is not contemplated under section 3 of the Land Disputes Tribunals Act No.18 of 1990. The Tribunal's jurisdiction is strictly limited to matters concerning division, boundaries, occupation, or trespass to land, and does not extend to contractual disputes or issues of title in registered land.
