The court held that interest accrued on the sum deposited in court as a result of an order is not part of the 'gross proceeds' as defined under section 36 of the Betting, Lotteries and Gaming Act. The purpose of such interest is to compensate the party deprived of the use of the money during the pendency of the dispute. Since both the beneficiary and the ex parte applicant were denied use of the deposited funds, both are entitled to the interest accrued, apportioned pro rata according to their agreed entitlements.
