Although the deceased was found dead in the accused's hut with an injury at the back of his head and a pool of blood nearby, there was no direct evidence linking the accused to the injury or to the cause of death. The post-mortem report indicated that the cause of death was cardio-respiratory arrest secondary to aspiration pneumonia, not the head injury.
